House Clearances

We offer a full house clearance service which involves clearing saleable items and disposing of unsaleable property.

Charges

  1. Goods to be sold by auction at a commission of 17.5% including Vat, to a minimum of £10.00 plus Vat.
  2. A lotting fee of £1.00 plus Vat per lot will be applicable.
  3. There will be a £10.00 per lot sorting charge. (The auctioneer will apply this at his discretion on consignments selling for £100 or under). This applies to General sales only.
  4. Internet illustration charge £4 per lot plus vat and printed Antique Sale Catalogue illustration fee £20 per lot plus vat.
  5. Boldon Auction Galleries reserve the right to charge a Withdrawl Fee of £25 per lot plus vat for items removed from Antique & Fine Art Sales by the vendor if catalogues have been published and marketing undertaken.

Reserves and Estimates

  1. All goods will be sold without reserve at the Auctioneers discretion unless otherwise instructed. No reserves can be accepted of less than £50. If reserves are not considered to be sensible by the Auctioneers, and items do not reach the reserve, then a charge of 10% including VAT will be made on the reserve price.

  2. If the unsold items are not collected within 1 week of notification and the unsold charge paid, Boldon Auction Galleries reserve the right to sell the item without reserve to cover the cost of this charge. In the event of a reserve price not being reached Boldon Auction Galleries are entitled to sell after the Auction by Private Treaty at not less than the agreed reserve price, as long as the goods remain on the premises. Normal conditions of sale will apply. Any item failing to reach the reserve will be re-entered and the reserve reduced by 50% each time.

  3. Please note that estimates are not reserves they are purely for encouragement of bidders and reserved items may sell for a fraction of the estimate.

Ownership and Indemnity

The seller warrants to Boldon Auction Galleries and to the buyer that he is the true owner of the property, or authorised to sell the property by the true owner, and is able to transfer good marketable title to the property free from any third party claims.

Electrical Goods

The seller of electrical items guarantees that they are in full working order and are safe for use, unless written notice of defects is given. If contrary to this guarantee that they are returned within 7 days of Auction by the purchaser as defective Boldon Auction Galleries will not pay out on the said article.

Other Conditions

The auctioneers reserve the right to refuse entry to items that they do not consider to be suitable either as to their nature or as to their individual value.

Please remember that there are many items which we sell from house clearances as part of that service. Unfortunately it is not viable to sell some of these items for other vendors.
