Alternatively you can telephone us to arrange an individual ½ hour slot to bring your items to the Saleroom for valuation (see overleaf for dates for Accepting Entries)
For larger items or house clearances please telephone us to arrange for one of our Valuers to come to your home.
Boldon Auction Galleries are also available to carry out valuation days on behalf of local and national charities. Over the years we have carried out many Charity Auctions and other fundraising events. (£1 donation per lot for fundraising event or charity). Please contact us for further information.
Professional Services
We provide a full range of professional valuation services for insurance, probate or family division purposes. These can be arranged by appointment at either your home or in the saleroom and in each case are tailored to suit the individual client's needs.

House Clearances
We offer a full house clearance service which involves clearing saleable items and disposing of unsaleable property.
Terms of Business for items entered into Auction
- Commission
17.5% (including vat) of the total hammer price. If your goods sell for over £60 you will be charged this amount. - Lotting Fee
A lotting fee of £2 plus Vat per lot will be applicable. - Minimum Account Charge
£10.00 (plus vat). This will be applied if your goods sell for £60 or less. This applies to General Sales only. - Reserves
All lots will be sold without a reserve unless expressly stated (no reserves applicable for General Sales). There may be a £10 (plus vat) sorting charge, the Auctioneer will apply this at his discretion. This will apply to General Sales only, and for consignments of less than £100. - Withdrawals
Boldon Auction Galleries reserve the right to charge a withdrawal fee of £25 per lot (plus vat) for items removed from Antique and Fine Art Sales by the Vendor if items have been catalogued and/or a catalogue has been published and marketing undertaken. - Descriptions
Please note that every single item will not be described on your final statement. If you are concerned please inform our staff who will note this on your receipt. - Payment
All goods entered into auction will be accounted for 2-3 weeks after the last sale of your goods. Accounts will be posted. - Disposal
All items removed and disposed of during a house clearance will be charged at an additional fee to be negotiated with the Auctioneer. Any items removed from a house and then deemed unsaleable after entering the saleroom will be disposed of without prior notice or consent. Any items either unsold or in our opinion unsaleable may be liable to a disposal charge at your cost without prior notice. - Transport
will be charged at £40 (plus vat) per hour Monday to Friday and £60 (plus vat) per hour on Saturdays. Transport is charged from the time the van leave Boldon Auction Galleries, collects the goods and returns to Boldon Auction Galleries and unloads. - Internet Illustration Fee
£4 (plus vat) per lot and/or - Printed Antique Sale Catalogue Illustration Fee
£20 (plus vat) per lot. - Electrical Items
By law all electrical items entered for sale must be tested to comply with Trading Standards legislation. The fee for this service is £3 (plus vat) per item. Any electrical items returned within 7 days of the auction by the purchaser as defective will be disposed of.
Ownership and Indemnity
The seller warrants to Boldon Auction Galleries and to the buyer that he is the true owner of the property, or authorised to sell the property by the true owner, and is able to transfer good marketable title to the property free from any third party claims.
Other Conditions
The auctioneers reserve the right to refuse entry to items that they do not consider to be suitable either as to their nature or as to their individual value.
Please remember that there are many items which we sell from house clearances as part of that service. Unfortunately it is not viable to sell some of these items for other vendors.
